New Light: Viewfinders @ Museum of Brisbane

My image of the Kurilpa Bridge, Tensegrity, was proudly featured in the New Light: Viewfinders exhibition held at the Museum of Brisbane in 2024. This exhibition showcased contemporary interpretations of Brisbane’s iconic landmarks, with my photograph highlighting the intricate architectural design of Kurilpa Bridge. The piece was chosen for its ability to capture both the structural elegance and vibrant urban atmosphere, contributing to the exhibition’s celebration of innovation in local photography.

Urban Light

The 'Urban Light' project represents a continuation of the photographic series I originally developed for my final TAFE QLD exhibition in 2025. This body of work explores the interplay between artificial lighting and urban spaces, capturing the distinctive glow that transforms everyday cityscapes after dark. Through a carefully considered use of composition and exposure, the project aims to highlight the contrast between natural shadow and manufactured illumination, revealing the unique character and mood of contemporary urban environments across Brisbane.

As an accompaniment to my final TAFE QLD exhibition, I designed and printed a short photo zine that highlights my journey as a beginner photographer. The zine focuses on my unique perspective of the built environment, capturing the interplay of structure, light, and form through a developing artistic lens. Alongside these architectural observations, I included a selection of creative portrait shots that explore human expression and identity, adding a personal dimension to the visual narrative. This printed piece serves both as a reflection of my growth and a tangible extension of the themes presented in the exhibition. I printed only 25 copies, and invited attendees to take one as they wished. The zine was a great success and received overwhelmingly positive praise from the judging panel.
